Anisha, one of the longest-operating Susila Dharma projects, has provided programs and services over the years to thousands of local residents outside of Bangalore. In the last few years, they have promoted organic kitchen gardening to several thousand families through its Kitchen Garden Project in local schools. Last year Anisha began a 4-year project designed to extend its original organic kitchen gardening program to 1,500 students in 30 new schools located further from Anisha than the original schools they worked in. The project needed a new and larger four-wheel-drive vehicle for staff to travel the greater distances involved, often over hilly terrain. SD Canada joined SD USA (the lead fundraising partner), SD International and other SD Nationals to make this purchase a reality.
