Romanian Babies Project

Romania

Subud members have been funding this project through Susila Dharma Canada from the time that Helina van Zeggelen spent 3 months volunteering in Romania in 2004. The funds were used to buy food, diapers, shampoo and vitamins for the babies and pay a small salary to three local women hired to work in the Children’s Hospital.

Recently the situation regarding access to the hospital in Romania has changed, due to new government regulations. But Helina has advised us of a new worthwhile project to help with the education and literacy of Roma kids and their parents in some very run-down Romanian villages.

Earmarked donations to either project can now be made directly to St Olave’s Church in Toronto (and no longer through Susila Dharma Canada), who will forward them to Romania:

St Olave’s Anglican Church
360 Windermere Avenue
Toronto ON M6S 3L4

Donations of more than $25 are eligible for a tax receipt from the Church.
