ICDP Colombia
This project will train a team of teachers at the public school “Instituto Tebaida”, to apply the Subud-developed ICDP programme ‘I’m a person too’ and to put in place changes in practice and pedagogy that will transform the school culture to favour improved child development.
This will involve theoretical work with the teachers and practical work with children and their parents, thereby involving work on two sets of relationships which are key to the learning process: 1) Teacher/child and 2) parent/child.
In Colombia, each school has its unique ‘pedagogical project’ (PEI) or approach to the learning process. The Instituto Tebaida intents to have the Subud-developed ICDP methodology at the center of its PEI.
In 2020, Susila Dharma Canada committed to $1,400 to fund this project.
This project will help to identify in which areas it is viable to adapt the ICDP methodology to enrich the pedagogical activities that take place in the classroom. The project is inherently sustainable, because it promotes institutional change and transformation that will benefit many generations of learners, not only one cohort. By working with parents, the goal is to reactivate and improve good parenting practices in daily interactions with their children, strengthening their skills as caregivers.
